The Social Services Department is responsible for individual and family care, elderly care, and care for people with disabilities. We work preventively with support, interventions, and authority exercises for children, youth, families, adults, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

Our mission is to increase individuals' opportunities to live under the best possible living conditions and to empower individuals to live an independent life. We are a social service that is at the forefront of preventive work and the transition to an even more accessible and knowledge-based social service.

We are a large reception center and have over 7,000 visits per year. We have five social workers and four midwives working at the reception, as well as doctors working part-time. The reception is operated in collaboration between Huddinge municipality and Region Stockholm. The reception is HBTQi and disability-certified and has undergone training in racism and anti-racism.

We work with young people aged 12-22. We operate from a salutogenic holistic perspective to promote health and prevent physical, mental, and sexual ill health. Young people should be given the opportunity to make healthy lifestyle choices. The youth center is based on the needs of the young person, regardless of gender, gender identity, ethnic affiliation, religion/belief, disability, and sexual orientation.

About the Job

As a social worker, you will primarily work with individual counseling and support conversations, as well as couple and parent/youth conversations. You will work in a team together with a midwife with young people experiencing genital pain. You will work closely with other employees at the reception and together with the midwife conduct outreach work, receive groups for study visits with students in grade 8, and other student groups from the municipality's schools. Other outreach activities may take place at youth centers, festivals, or schools in the municipality. Some evening work is included.

About You

We see that you have a degree in social work and basic psychotherapy training (step 1). It is an advantage if you have experience working at a youth center or with the target group, sexology training, and have conducted counseling groups. The work requires that you are a responsive and engaged person with great respect and knowledge for young people's living conditions and have a norm-critical approach. You need to be comfortable working independently as well as being equally natural in a team. You are confident and enjoy standing in front of groups and working outreach.
